Examination date for CBSE UGC NET 2017 declared
National Eligibility Test 2017 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education on November 5, 2017. Earlier, it was told that the exam will be held on November 9. The detailed notification about the upcoming exam will be released by the authority on July 24 at cbsenet.nic.in and students can refer to the notification for further information. The registration process for the exam will be online only and candidates can start filling the application form from August 1. The last date for paying the fee is August 31, 2017.The CBSE conducts the NET exam twice every year but, this year the July round has been cancelled and it is further being said that from next year CBSE will hold the NET exercise only once a year like other competitive exams.Last week, several students were led by All India Students' Association and they protested outside the office of UGC for scrapping the July round of the exam. The idea of holding the NET exam only once a year was proposed by the CBSE in April and it was backed by the fact that only 17 percent of the registered candidates appear for the exam and out of them only 4 percent clear the exam. The candidates who qualify the NET exam are awarded with the Junior Research Fellowship which allows them to pursue the research in the subject of their post-graduation. The qualified candidates are also eligible for the post of assistant professor.
