On account of Smog effect, schools in Delhi to remain shut till Sunday
Keeping in Mind the pollution crisis of Delhi, Manish Sisodia said that schools in Delhi will remain shut till Sunday for up to secondary classes.Before taking the decision, The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also held a meeting with the Education, Health and Environment Departments.According the reports of the Pollution Control Board (CPCB) the air quality in capital region is severe and is affecting not only people with the respiratory or cardiovascular disease but also, healthy people. On October 20, last year, the air pollution in the capital region had also passed the severe level after Diwali Celebrations. The pollution is also a result of stubble burning. To keep the check on the process of stubble burning, High Court has asked the government of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan to inform the court about the steps taken to against stubble burning.A top medical body in Delhi has declared the situation as 'public health emergency'. Due to severe pollution in air, the Indian Medical Association has also cancelled the annual half marathon.
