RBI Assistant prelims 2017: Exam Analysis



RBI's recruitment of assistants is one of the most waited opportunities for the banking aspirants. Last year prelims exam for the assistant was conducted by the authority in December but this year, the day one is already over of the prelims exam.So, now is the time for the exam analysis. Candidates who have yet to appear for the exam can certainly benefit from the analysis and can mold their strategy to meet the exam with much higher confidence.The level of exam was very easy and one can expect the cut-offs for the prelims to be even higher than the previous year's.  There were few changes in the questions in reasoning and English section.Exam patternRBI assistant exam is an online exam and has 100 questions with the time limit of 60 minutes. The 100 questions are divided into three sections-- Reasoning Ability (35 questions), Numerical Ability (35 questions), and English language (30 questions).English language (Easy-Moderate)The English language varied from easy to moderate. RC was based on story and there were 4 questions from synonyms and antonyms  from the passage.Numerical abilityThis section also varied from Easy-Moderate. This year arithmetic portion was high in the exam as 15 out of 35 questions were from the arithmetic and there was only one set from DI.Reasoning abilityEven with the inclusion of 3 puzzles this section was the easiest of all. Three puzzles were as Linear (7 persons, facing North): 1 variableMonth based: 1 variableCircular (8 persons facing inward): 1 variable
