NEET 2017 admission: Court demands the list of students who passed the exam in vernacular languages
The controversy surrounding the NEET question paper in vernacular language does not seem to get over any time soon. Now, Supreme Court has asked the CBSE to produce the list of the students who appeared for the NEET 2017 exam and managed to crack it.A petition was filed by a group of students who said that the question paper of NEET in vernacular languages was more difficult than its counterpart in English and Hindi.Supreme Court has fixed August 8 as the next hearing date of the course though, CBSE has already rejected the plea by saying that there weren't any variations in the question papers. NEET 2017 was conducted by the CBSE on May 7 and since then students who appeared for the exam from Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have been complaining about the variations in exam question paper. Nearly 1.5 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET 2017 exam in vernacular languages and CBSE said that different question papers were created in order to avoid he leakage of the question paper.Of total 11.35 lakh aspirants, who appeared for the exam only 6.11 lakh candidates managed to pass the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.Another petition was also filed by a student named Alok Tiwari in apex court which demanded the cancellation of the NEET exam over the rumors of papers getting leaked and asked for a CBI enquiry in the matter.
