Eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2018 released



IIT Kanpur has released the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2018 and the good news is that from 2018, more number of candidates will be eligible for the JEE Advanced. The number of eligible candidates for JEE Advanced 2018 has been increased to 2,24,000 which means that top 2,24,000 students will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2018 exam.Age limitThe candidate who wishes to appear for the JEE main exam must have born on or after October 1, 1993. For SC, ST and PwD candidates there is a relaxation of five years.Number of attemptsA candidate can give JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years.Class 12 examsThe candidate must have appeared for the class 12 board exam for the first time in either 2017 or 2018.In case, if the result of the board for academic year 2015-16 was declared after June 2016, then that candidate will also be considered eligible for the exam. However, in case board declared the result before June 2016 but the result of the candidate was withheld, such a candidate will not be considered for the exam.Class 12 percentageThe candidate in class 12 should have scored more than 75 percent in the aggregate and for SC, ST, and PwD candidates the upper limit is 65 percent.The candidate, category-wise, must be in top 20 percentile of the successful candidates in the respective board exam.
