School registration gets cancelled over stolen answer sheets

Around 550 SSC answer sheets were stolen from a school in Dahisar earlier this year. For the same, Mumbai division of (MSBSHSE) has cancelled the registration of the school. Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary EducationOn April 4, four days after the board exams ended, answer sheets of mathematics and English were stolen from Isra Vidyalaya in Dahisar. For stealing the answer sheets, police has arrested two persons who sold the answer sheets to the scrap dealer.Of the stolen answer sheets, police recovered 330 sheets while the remaining sheets are unaccounted for. The students whose answer sheets could not be accounted for were assigned average of the marks they received in other subjects. “We have cancelled the registration of Isra Vidyalaya after an inquiry committee found several other discrepancies in theschool,” said S Y Chandekar, secretary, Mumbai division, MSBSHSE. Narendra Phatak, principal, Isra Vidyalaya said 'We are in the process of challenging the cancellation and are hopeful of a favourable decision'.
