Aadhaar cards mandatory for CBSE students' for class 9 and 11 registrations



From now on CBSE has made it mandatory for the board exams registrations for class 9 and class 11 to use Aadhaar card number.In a circular released on September 26, the board has given detailed rules regarding the registration of class 9 and class 11 students for all the affiliated schools. 'All CBSE affiliated schools should register themselves before proceeding for online submission. They can use the password and 'Affiliation Number' as user ID already available with them. Newly affiliated schools should contact the concerned Regional Office of the CBSE for obtaining password,' reads the circular. For registration, Aadhaar card has been made compulsory by the board for the first time. 'Wherever Aadhar number is not available; Aadhar enrolment number can be provided. Residents of Indian states where Aadhar enrolment is not being done may provide Bank details in lieu of Aadhar,' says CBSE.For foreign nationals passport number must be provided or Social Security Number /ID number which is issued by that Foreign country must be provided.It should be noted that those registered in class 9 will have to appear for the board exams next year on compulsory basis.For class 10, CBSE also remodeled the assessment system. Under the new assessment system 80 marks will be given for theory and 20 marks will be given for internal assessment. The minimum passing marks are 33% for theory and internal assessment separately.
