Malala Yousafzai to receive Canadian Honorary Citizenship



Malala Yousafzai, the youngest-ever Nobel Prize winner will receive the Canadian Honorary Citizenship which was presented to her in 2014. The announcement regarding this was made by the Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. He also said that Malala will address his country's Parliament and he and Malala will discuss about empowering the girls by means of education.According to the reports, 19-years old Malala will become the youngest person to address the body on April 12. At the age of 15 years she was shot in head by the Taliban militants while she was returning from school. Her advocacy for the girl education was the reason she got shot for.For her campaign she won the world acclaim and was awarded with the Nobel Prize in 2014. A report by cbc news said that in a statement from the PMO, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated, "Ms. Yousafzai's courageous response to those who threatened her life, and her advocacy for girls' education, has inspired many millions of people around the world. Her story is one of determination and dignity, and Canada is proud to call her an honorary citizen of this great country." The PMO release also quoted Yousafzai as saying, "The people of Canada are leading the world in their response to the refugee crisis. I am honoured by Parliament's invitation and look forward to visiting this great nation of heroes."
