All you need to know about the scrutiny of the class 10 and 12 answer books in CBSE



Following the intervention of the Delhi's High Court, CBSE has finally decided to allow a careful scan of the class 10 and 12 answer books. But, the catch is, the answer books of only students who have applied for the photocopies of their evaluated scripts will be scrutinized.More about the reportThe notice regarding the scrutiny of marks was released by the CBSE on June 28 which said "the applications for the scrutiny of marks for particular questions in theory paper shall be received from July 1 to July 7." Only candidates of class 12 who have applied for the photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets shall be eligible to apply for the scrutiny of marks given in any questions under the available marking scheme. The provision for the same now, has been extended to 12 subjects namely - English core, English elective (CBSE), English elective (NCERT), Hindi core, Hindi elective, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, business studies, economics and accountancy.Schedule for the scrutiny and important modalities regarding the scrutiny Only class 12 students who have applied for the photocopies of the evaluated answer books are eligible to apply for the scrutiny of the marks only w.r.t. the available marking scheme.In case of class 10 if, there is a case where marks have not been awarded or any portion of the answer book remain unchecked then case will be dealt under the procedure and guidelines of the 'verification of grades'.Students can only request for a maximum of 10 questions (theory only) at the expense of Rs 100 per question.The request for the scrutiny of the questions will received only via demand draft in the favor of 'Secretay, CBSE' payable where the regional office is located from 1/7/2017 to 7/7/2017 or via NEFT.The request will be accepted only once.In the subject concerned, the applicant will have to refer to the marking scheme, which will be made available on the website.In case of increase or decrease of the marks a new marks statement will be issued to the particular candidate after surrendering the old marks statement.The status for the scrutiny will be uploaded on the net.All candidates can check their marks after scrutiny on the cbse.nic.in.
