In Bihar class 7 question paper Kashmir is a separate country
In Bihar class 7 question paper the state Kashmir was errorneously figured as a separate country. The students were appearing in the exams which were being conducted under the central governmentʼs Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in a Bihar district. In a question, the students of class 7 were asked to provide the names of the people residing in four countries and Kashmir was one of the countries in the list. The error later was acknowledged by the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), which was conducting the exam and later the council also expressed an apology for the error. After a solved example-- “The people of China are called Chinese”-- the students in the exam were asked to write what the citizens of Nepal, England, Kashmir and India were called. “It was a printing error for which we express our deep regret. The question will not be taken into account at the time of evaluation,” Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, state program officer with the BEPC.“There would have been no problem if the oblique mark was there between country and state. The question papers, though prepared centrally, were printed locally in the districts and there were no complaints from anywhere else”, Prasad said.He further said that BEPC will look into the matter and will discuss the possible measures so that such errors do not occur in future exams.
