Mining themed fest in IIT-KGP to begin from October 13

October 13, 2017 will mark the commencement of the IIT-KGP's festival called Geo Resource Engineering and Technology – Students, Teachers and Employers Partnership (GREAT STEP).Students from all over the nation can attend the event which will include mining-related events including the robotics and case studies.According to the press release issued by the institute on Monday, the fest will also host quiz events like ‘Quiz Spielʼ and ‘Mineac, Mineinditeʼ including paper presentations. A summit is also being hosted by The Technology Mining Engineering Society (TMES) of the Department of Mining Engineering at IITKGP and as of now the institute has received 250 registrations from 20 universities for the summit. The fest will begin on October 13 and will run till October 15 and the main aim of the fest is to provide the students a platform where they can interact with the leaders of the mining and allied industries.During the fest, the three high school students of the Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Bhulinagar, Dhanbad will be awarded by the Master Geotech Services LLC for creating a mine safety robot sing their own resources.
