UP board to base its syllabus on NCERT pattern
In a bid to improve the education standard of the state, the Uttar Pradesh government is considering about introducing significant changes in the state's education system. For starters, the government is planning to introduce the NCERT based examination pattern in the exams conducted by the UP board in order to bring the government school students on par with the students studying the CBSE affiliated schools.It is also considering to conduct the UP board exams under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said "the Board would conduct examinations under the watch of CCTV cameras and the dates for the same would be declared before Diwali. Strict measures will be taken to curb cheating and the examinations would be wrapped up within a month". He further said that government will try its best to provide students with the atmosphere which is free of stress and will also form a selection board which will deal with the shortage of teachers in schools and till fresh appointments are made, the retired teachers will continue to work according to the rules.“The government has announced farm debt waivers and is providing electricity, fertilizers and water to farmers,” the minister said. The state government is committed to developing the rain-starved Bundelkhand region on a priority basis, he added.
