Competitive tests again in Maharashtra Schools again

Competitive tests again in Maharashtra Schools again

After receiving multiple requests from the schools and educational organizations, Maharashtra state government has soften its attitude towards talent search exam.Month earlier, the state government had imposed ban on any kind of competitive tests by private agencies in the schools. In a government resolution issued on October 4, the department specified that tests can be conducted in the schools only under specific conditions if they are approved by the director of primary education. In January, department had issued a GR in which it said that students can only participate in the government approved internal tests. The ban on the tests by the private agencies was imposed because schools made students take multiple tests which put extra pressure on the students and parents had to shell out huge sums of money on these tests. Now, department has decided to make some concessions and allow the tests but only under strict conditions.Following are the three conditions under which tests are allowed: When the educational institute has more than 25 students under it and wants to conduct the testIf the test encourages reading, is aligned with the existing syllabus and runs on no-profit no-loss basis. If the tests are run by state-level teachers' associations, which conduct, state-level tests by getting subject experts to set the questions. The agency or institute will be required to submit an application for the test which will be scrutinize by the director of primary education and if it fills above conditions then the permission for the test will be given.
